MechCommander - Part 5 - Operation Cutthroat
Operation 5 concludes the game, but only a few of its missions are really tough; the third and fourth. Upon completing the game, it's interesting to note how difficult overall the game can be at times, especially whenever you face an enemy with a Heavy Ultra Autocannon. Because of this, Hunchback IICs were, and still are, the foes I dread the most.
My favourite 'Mechs are the Loki, Vulture, and Maskari. The Loki is fast, has a good weapon capacity, and is decently strong, the Vulture has such a cool design, and the Masakari is just epic in every way, despite being slow.
My favourite pilots are Outlaw, Siren, Mantis, Scarab, and Isis. Outlaw has such a cool vibe to him, and I like his chill personality. Siren is cute and is one of the best early-game gunners. Mantis is very professional, and is greatly affected by her emotions, compared to a lot of the other pilots, which resonated with me. Scarab comes off very experienced and professional, and his line, "Adjusting my range," is my favourite in the entire game. Isis seems like she's trying really hard to do well, like she has something to prove, and this made her come off as an underdog to me. Having one of the worst gunnery stats from the start to getting the highest kills in the final mission means she certainly proved herself.
I also really like Rooster, and he really grew on me the more I had him on the team. As a tribute to my brother who used to have Rooster on his team when we'd play this game as kids, I put him in the Jagermech, one of his favourite 'Mechs.
