MechWarrior Online - Griffin 2N gameplay
71The 2N is extremely rare by 3050 standards. Built for the SLDF royal regiments it was a vast improvement over standard Griffin units seen in the great houses and even regular SLDF units. Being equipped with dual SRM 6 racks and a single EP PPC, the 2N becomes a deadly fighter at both long and short range. It's major advantage however is the units ECM suite which allows it to remain undetected for a longer period, which makes it's ability to close with targets for a killing SRM shot all the more likely.
The 2N largely vanished either through the Amaris Civil War, the Exodus fleet of General Kerensky or through the fires of the Succession Wars. The remaining 2N's still in the Inner Sphere are either being stored by Comstar or are prized 'mechs of the great houses.
The 2N is simply stunning as a 55 tonner. A solid base loadout coupled with great speed and ECM means this bastard will tear most opponents up without issue. For a time you may have seen it being used by many competitive groups due to it's hardpoint setup and ECM functions making it a powerful rush 'mech that worked extremely well in groups. I wholeheartedly recommend trying this one out if you haven't already because it's that damn good.
