Medal Of Honor Walkthrough Part 1: Rescue G-3 Officer (INTRO & FIRST MISSION)
0Welcome back to my channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll dive into one of the many World War 2-themed shooters i have prepared for this channel, starting with the first entry in the series that kickstarted the genre's popularity and which was planned to be recorded all the way back in 2021 before the plan fell through. The game in question is of course, Medal Of Honor so sit back, relax and enjoy.
As some of you may notice, while i still emulate PS1 games on my mobile phone like i always do, i was forced to replace the emulator used for PS1 games on the channel as ePSXe, emulator which i've used since 2017 and which has been the power behind every PS1 walkthrough recorded on this channel up to this one, has severe compatibility issues with my built-in recording software, making it impossible to capture the sound within the emulator. With that in mind, i've made a switch over to DuckStation emulator which, outside of differently designed virtual D-pad, shouldn't offer much different experience compared to ePSXe either for me as the player or you as viewers. With that out of the way, enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Medal Of Honor is 1999 First-Person Shooter video game developed by DreamWorks Interactive (today known as EA Los Angeles) and published by Electronic Arts as PlayStation exclusive. Widely credited with popularizing World War 2 as a topic for video games, Medal Of Honor is notable for having its story and concept designed by a renowned American movie director and producer Steven Spielberg who saw the project as an opportunity to educate people on World War 2 through gaming. Upon release, Medal Of Honor was met with critical acclaim as critics praised the game's level of detail, especially in enemies' animations, level design and music. Due to its significant critical and commercial success, Medal Of Honor received a sequel, Medal Of Honor: Underground which was released in 2000.
Story of the game is set in 1944 and 1945, following the final stages of World War 2 from D-Day landings in Normandy to the collapse of Nazi regime from the perspective of James "Jimmy" Patterson, American soldier whose extraordinary combat and academic record have earned him a position within the Office of Strategic Services, elite intelligence branch of the United States' Armed Forces tasked with conducting covert assignments in European theater which, while steadily being liberated from fascist control by the combined efforts of the Soviet Union and American-led Western Allies, is still an effective bastion of Nazi Germany and her allies. To that end, Jimmy is sent to France, which is currently being steadily liberated following the successful Allied landings in Normandy, in order to assist OSS in sabotaging of Nazi war effort and help hasten the liberation of Europe.
During the night of June 12th, 1944, Jimmy reaches the outskirts of the village of Dubuisson, France where he makes contact with the local resistance member named Manon and is sent out to find the G-3 operations officer who was shot down over the area previous day and vanished while his pilot was recovered by the resistance. After making his way into the village and fighting his way through numerous German troops and Gestapo officers also looking for the missing G-3 officer, Jimmy finds his way into the village's sewers where he finds that the officer, who was severely injured after being shot down, died from his injuries, forcing Jimmy to collect the officer's briefcase containing the collected information and escape as Germans start to pursue him...
