Medieval II: Stainless Steel - Norway Part Eleven - The War with England
2Not going to lie to you lads...that could have gone better.
England attack Norway's Scottish holdings whilst the nation prepares for war, catching King Magnus outside of Edinburgh. Magnus rallies and Gallir the Lazy leads an insane charge that kills King Edward of England in battle. The sheer weight of numbers the English possess, however, makes the war unwinnable.
Magnus sues for peace, giving the small city of Antioch (a city that had proven troublesome so far) to the new English king in exchange for peace.
The King of Norway then sites Scotland as a lost cause with this many English troops over the border and his treasury straining under the weight of the war. He looks to Spain and its rich cities as a new possibility of conquest, he leaves Britain for Iberia, leaving messages that if the English attack again they are to find nothing but scorched earth in Scotland.
