Dr. Wily ís at it again, for a third time!
And what is that whistle .. ? Break.. Man?

~ THEY LOST ME! - FORGOT ME!
Made You from PARTS of Me!
If you're the one,, my father's son,
Then what am I suppose to be? ~
Lyrics from The Megas - " I'm not the Break Man "
Amazing song.

My personal story with this game was that this was the point in my life where I could finally point out to music I like, namely video game music. My uncles on my father's side had gotten Mega Man 3 when it was new so I borrowed it form them and I played it incessantly.

To me, this is my favorite Mega Man game. It takes everything that was great about MM2, and makes it bigger, larger, better. It has every robot master from MM2 in the form of Doc Robots, upping the tally to 16 robot masters! 17 when we take into consideration..

The red robot with a yellow scarf was intriguing. I couldn't figure out why he only attacked on some stages, and then on one stage he seemingly helped you instead. Thinking I'd finally fight him in truth, he still teleports away. It was baffling. Finally beating Wily and seeing that familiar shape arriving and saving us, learning that he's Protoman, and seeing all the robots from Mega Man 1 again ending with Protoman was one hell of a revelation.

He had become my favorite hands down. And while I didn't notice it at the time, his coloration being a homage or inspiration from Cyborg 009 which was one if not the first anime I ever saw and loved along with MS Gundam and SDF Macross really just makes it even more... More love!

The music in Mega Man 3 is superb. While perhaps not infinitely hardrockable like Mega Man 2 nor as melodic as Mega Man 1, it's very special worthy of analyzation. Just take the final Wily stages. First you have a rather upbeat one, followed by a more serious tone, followed by the final one that sounds like mortal jeopardy. That really heavy oppressive feel to it. The Wily boss themes is superb, and the regular Boss theme is the most intense one so far.

And never to forget,
Blues theme ~
