After defeating the eight Robot Masters of this game that Dr. Light & Dr. Wily created, a new enemy has appeared in for of the robot's stages. Mega Man must confront this Doc Robot in slightly tweaked versions of these four stages.

Doc Robot is kind of an imitator robot just like Mega Man himself. At both the halfway point and the end of each of Doc's levels, he will utilize one of the eight Robot Masters from Mega Man 2. From this, he uses their weapons, but he still has different weaknesses to Mega Man's weapons in this game depending on who Doc Robot is copying.

In Spark Man's stage, the 1st battle has him copy Metal Man. His biggest weakness in this state are the Magnet Missile & Hard Knuckle.

At the end, he copies Quick Man. His biggest weaknesses in this state are the Gemini Laser & Search Snake.
