Well how about that, turns out that little performance that was happening in Central Area 3 was all a trap. The performer, CircusMan, drains the energy from all the navis attending and uses it to awaken the legendary Cybeasts. He captures one of them, depending on the version, and has to retreat when the NetPolice show up. So now we've got a Cybeast on the loose and we have to try and do something. However, when Lan and Mega Man try to fight it, Mega Man gets blown away in an instant. Guess this is what happens when you try to fight the final boss at the start of the game.

So we go to Lan's dad for a solution, but he says it's far to dangerous to try. But we happen to overhear a conversation on sealing the Cybeast in a navi. Said navi would need a certain program that happened to be used to make Mega Man. So we go back to where the Cybeast is, and Mega Man decides to seal the Cybeast in himself in order to keep it from rampaging on the net. However this knocks him out... __
