Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection
Megaman Battle Network | Part 1 – Lan's First Battle
As I mentioned in the description earlier, product provided by Capcom. I got this on Thursday but I had to wait a bit because I was dealing with a bit of a tragedy. A personal tragedy. But yeah, if you have already noticed, Capcom gives us yet another collection for players to enjoy. Welcome to the Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection.
This collection is split between two volumes. Combined they make a total of ten games and some of them consist of more than one version. For the sake of this, I will be doing one version per game. This means from 3-6 I'm only doing one version and that's it. If you want info, here's what comes in each volume.
Volume 1 contains Battle Network 1, 2 and 3. BN3 has Blue and White versions.
Volume 2 contains Battle Netowk 4, 5 and 6. BN4 has Red Sun/Blue Moon. BN5 has Team Protoman/Team Colonel. BN6 has Cybeast Gregar/Falzar.
We begin with the first game, Mega Man Battle Network. Released in 2001 for the Game Boy Advance, this game is set in an alternate continuity where computers and networking tech were the scientific discovery instead of robotics. You play as Lan Hikari, a young 5th grader who owns a PET or Personal Terminal. A Personal Terminal contains a NetNavi and in the case of Lan, he has Megaman.EXE. He has friends that also owns Navis such as Mayl who has Roll.EXE, his rival Dex and GutsMan.EXE and Yai with Glyde.EXE. Together Lan, his friends and their Navis contend with the likes of WWW or World 3. They wish to take over the world by means of NetCrime and computer viruses.
It's here where you see that the gameplay is split. First is the Overworld where Lan moves about and the like. The other is Cyberspace where Megaman explores, battle viruses and finds things. Cyberspace is where the gameplay occurs as you use Megaman to bust viruses. You also use Battlechips as a means of offense, defense and support. Skilled players can pull off insane combos.
I can go on but it'd be too long. In the first part, we face off against one of the members of World 3, Mr. Match and his Navi Fireman.EXE. Remember that for later.
See you in Part 2 where we deal with a menace at school.
Theme used at the end is Electronic Brain Realm from Onimusha Blade Warriors.
