Playthrough | Part 4: Confront the Space Pirates
We're still in Phendrana Drifts. Now we head to face off against some trouble. Welcome to Part 4.
As you can guess, the Space Pirates have made a base of operations here. Samus investigates and learns that these guys have a base here. To make matters worse, they have Metroids. Yep. Seriously.
YouTuber DarkSydePhil said the following: “Why do I have to fight ****ing Metroids? They don't even fit in with the game”.
Here's my response to this: Metroids were created by the Chozo as ultimate warriors. They also were made as a counter to the X parasites on SR388. Space pirates obtained the Metroids and exposed them to beta rays, causing them to replace via cell division. In the case of this game, they're using Metroids and exposing them to phazon. The results are anything but pleasant.
So yeah, fighting the Space Pirates has Samus realize that there's more than meets the eye. Not only that but we get our hands on some nifty upgrades such as the Super Missle and the Thermal Visor. The Super Missile is one of four Beam Combos that you obtain in this game. It combines Missiles with the Power Beam. As for the Thermal Visor. They're useful against Stealth Pirates and sometimes can find some things hidden.
It's also where we face off against Thardus. But it's underwhelming due to the boss getting stuck on one spot. I hate that in all honesty and I didn't want to redo a lot of progress. So yeah, what can you do? We do get the Spider Ball and that's going to help us a lot.
Looks like Samus is going to need more power. We'll be seeing it in Part 5.
