The final stage of Mega Man II is a perfect showcase of everything it has proven to be minus the personal opinion that it probably has the best song in the game. It is just screens with no real sense of progressive difficulty or anything. It's just stuff slapped together in the vain attempt to try and stop our hero from reaching his goal of stopping the dangerous doctor for good! Along the way, we'll actually try and explain what the heck Wily's scheme was and why it just didn't work out the way he wanted.
And speaking of which, this is it. It's the final battle to end all battles. Wily has crossed time and space to return with his most colossal contraption ever devised... is what we would say if I wasn't too busy chuckling at the miniature-sized madman. Seriously, between that and the previous base we were in, I don't think Japan System House understood the scale of the project they were working on at times, and quite literally at that! It's also pretty simple once you get some basic pattern recognition down, something that we weren't always quite up to par with in our 2009 run.
I'm glad to have come back to this one and still enjoy MMII even if it's a more nostalgic way while also knowing that there are better games to come. Will our next adventure on here prove to be one of them? Well, um...
