The year is 21XX, and humans now have robotic equals known as Reploids, but some have turned against humans and other reploids, they are called Mavericks. in response to this new threat reploids with Combat Capabilities came together to form The Maverick Hunters.
Enter X, Dr. Thomas Lights Final Creation and the Original reploid, X doesn't like to fight but wants to protect human so he choses to fight for them with the other Maverick Hunters.
Last time we defeated all the mavericks that had taken hold of various locations and freed them to give them back to the humans. This time we are taking the fight to Sigma and those inside his fortress!
