Mega Man X, No Dash No Damage Minimalist Boss Fights, Storm Eagle+Armored Armadillo
On weekends, I am at my dad's house, and my recording capabilities are limited. I still have access to my emulators, however, so there's that. Anyway, after completing any given X game, I figured I could shoot to demonstrate some better skill than what I show in my main LP's. The goal of these boss fights are simple, beat them without the Dash, taking no damage and using the X buster only. No items are collected, although that's a little redundant in no damage runs, it makes the whole thing sound cooler.
This is by far the easiest to do in X1, since this game has the Dash as an upgrade you need to collect. This means each level and boss were made to be easily beaten regardless of whether or not you have the dash. Please note I may only cover the 8 Mavericks for this game, as I am unconfident in my skill to beat all the bosses like this without any hits taken. Onto the bosses themselves.
Storm Eagle: By far one of the easiest bosses in the game, even without the dash. All that's really notable here is how annoying this guy is, since when he decides to stir up wind, you cannot reclaim distance between you and him without the dash. Other than that, all of his attacks are easy to dodge, and the best opportunity to hit him is his dive bomb attack.
Armored Armadillo: Was originally my personal hardest Maverick, he gets easier each time I fight him. Really, he's just a tedious fight due to his ability to block shots. His attacks are painfully easy to dodge, and his rolling attack would be far more deadly if not for its set pattern. It is possible to do this fight in a third of the time I did under these stipulations. If you hit at a specific time during his shots with mid charged shots, you can easily loop him and chip away at his health quickly. I am really awful at pulling this off and have to do it the long way.
