After defeating the Gravity Beetle, X heads to the Armory to confront the 8th and last Robot Master, called Blast Hornet.
Blast Hornet is a hornet based Maverick. He used to be the second in command of the Maverick Hunter's Special 0 Unit. When his superior Zero received an invitation to go to Dopple Town, Blast Hornet went in his place as Zero was busy. When the Maverick Virus began infecting Reploids in the town, Blast Hornet fell victim to the virus and became a Maverick, joining Dr. Doppler's army.
After defeating the last Robot Master, Dr. Cain calls X and Zero back to the Maverick Hunter Base. He tells that after researching the control chips of the Mavericks controlled by Dr. Dopper, Dr. Cais discovered that Doppler is building a battle body, but not for himself. X and Zero fears this battle body could be used by Sigma, that could be alive. Dr. Cain pinpots Dr Doppler's secret lab at the Point D, and X and Zero plans to go there.
But before enter Dr. Doppler's secret lab, we'll grab the remaining stuff that we left behind.
