This is a Real Time Attack (RTA) speed run of Mega Man X5 All Stages with a real-time of 53:32 and an in-game time of 29:13, where this category aims to clear all 8 maverick stages, as well as beat the game. Timing begins upon selecting someone character select, and ends upon loss of character control (in this case, upon the final hit on sigma). This is on the gamecube X collection version.

This run uses the most optimal route, which is the GA rank route. This requires increasing Zero's rank to GA via mattrex's stage; rank at the end of a stage increases if you defeat few enemies, take little damage, beat it quickly, and take in few viruses. In the case of mattrex's stage, only taking damage (less than 16) and clearing the stage (less than 2 minutes) is relevant in a speedrun, and I only need to accomplish one of the two. Hence why I take some parts slowly, to ensure I don't take damage.

The GA rank increases boss levels by 2 (from SA rank), and obtaining a boss part requires that boss to be at level 8. Thus, I can fight Grizzly Slash and get hyper dash from him a lot earlier; without this route, I would have to wait 3 stages later before getting hyper dash. Having W Energy Saver and Z Saber Plus earlier are helpful too.

This was the second run I've done with this GA rank route and literally everything fell into place. I nailed every major important optimization/cycle/trick and all the major RNG factors just lined up so well. I'm not as good at this as I am with MMX4, so there are some ugly mistakes, but in terms of RNG, I got the enigma shot (~40ish RTA seconds gone if I miss it, and hitting it is very rare) and solid fights for the most part. This run is pretty good for my skill level and I don't think I'll come back to this for a while. Virus Stage 2 is the most ugly part of the run, along with a dumb death at the start of Virus Stage 3.
