Welcome to RoXolid Productions we're in this video, we talked with Sam from Rewind by Design and take a look at his awesome homemade NES based arcade cabinets.

I have been a fan of arcade machine since I was a kid. I remember going to Sammy's Burger Place in Menomonee Falls and playing great title such as Punch Out, Rampage, Afterburner, and of course the PlayChoice 10. As such of always wanted to own an arcade cabinet, but Sam by Rewind by Design actually did more with his dream and actually made arcade cabinets. Not only did he make some awesome looking cabinets though, he used some of the best games from the Nintendo Entertainment System as his basis for the cabinets.

I first learned about Rewind by Design after the GameOn Expo and John Riggs' awesome coverage. In talking to Sam, I learned that he used the original Donkey Kong and PlayChoice 10 cabinets as his templates so-to-speak for size, shape, and dimensions. One of the really interesting things to me is the fact that everything that has gone into these cabinets is period correct. And I'm not just talking about the graphics, these cabinets use original NES systems, multicarts, and CRT monitors for the best period accurate experience you could expect.

Each one of these cabinets are lovingly handmade, you can follow the build process on Rewind by Design's Facebook and Instagram pages. I know after looking at these I absolutely wanted one myself. It kind of makes me think, what would an earthworm Jim Super NES style cabinet look like? Sam, if you're taking requests, that's mine!

I need to thank both the guys with Rewind by design for spending a lot of time talking with us at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo 2018. These guys constantly had people around their displays, and rightfully so. These are truly pieces of arts and if I would have both the money and the means of transportation I would have taken at least one, okay it would have taken all of them, home.
