2The more weapons I gain, the easier the levels become. Beating up the fourth boss will get Marisa's broom which has the abilities similar to Mega Man 2's Item 2. I tend to end up getting weapons for Alice even though I intend Marisa to get Reimu's powers this time. Luckily enough Alice's weapons are effective enough to beat the bosses.
The difference with the Reimu boss fight is that the Yin/Yang balls are still capable of killing the player even after beating the boss, so you better make your decision on who'll get her weapon and quickly snag it before getting smashed to oblivion.
