MegaRace 3 - "Net Evil Mind" (Cut Level - Beta)
Hopefully... This puts an end on the seasonal nightmares i have about this game having more, weird levels...
Net Evil Mind is supposed to be the Seventh (last) level in the game's Catastrophe mode. The description for it can be found in the game's files. Since i can't load the menu data proper yet (im doing this in a very rough way, just replacing Strings in Cheat Engine to load the level and praying it doesn't crash, in this case, i replaced "Atomic High" with that level), i'll transcribe it here:
"Save the network's consciousness by protecting the antidote we are sending !!! Understood, big guy?"
Incase you failed or gave up, the fail message / nogging on the Stats screen would be:
"Medicine doesn't seem to be your "thing" big guy !"
Some texts that would probably be displayed during the map gameplay:
"Viruses are multiplying ! Destroy more of them !" and "Faster ! Protecting your back isn't enough !"
This level, would find you fighting against a hungry A.I. baby (ironic, considering our times) with the "Royal" ship through a virtual neural network. The song it would play would be the "Biotrix" one (Marked in the Game files as L7 - Net Evil Mind), with a maze-like design and the objective being reaching the finish.
Since i can't change ships or do much with the scripts, it was played with Tri-Nyx. As you can see, it has ZERO scripting, and lots of areas are unfinished, with the baby itself and other areas being untextured and non-animated. It was probably in a mid to late-dev stage of development before it was canned.
The track would've most likely having you avoid shocks, walls or some flying robotic neurons (As shown by the untextured flying probe in the thumbnail) and Viruses (according to localization files), with the climax being a moving wall of Honeycomb-shaped pillars for the ground. In the end, you would drive the ship into the baby's mouth, thus, ending the catastrophe-mode and getting your long-earned reward (the "Xtra-Bee" ship!)
This level was replaced (or straight up cut) with Nanodream, which has a similar concept (drive a ship through your sub-consiousness to prevent you from going mad), with similar obstacles but the same objective, reach the end and deliver the ship to a certain target.
Why it was cut and if it has any sort of scripting in the game is unclear, but judging by how loading other levels makes them work fine besides in-track messages or the ship changes, it makes me think that it has nothing but a preliminar map layout, a few visuals and nothing else.
If better methods to explore those appear, i'll kindly cover them, for now, this is all i have (and hopefully it is the last) to cover on this game.
