ReVolt - Testing the ares N64 core (w/ReShade)
Tried to see how far i could go in making it super-faithful to the original console.
I think that with my resources, this is as far as i can go. Played on my PC with an original N64 controller (using the Mayflash MF103), and enabling the Expansion Pak resolution (which is why it lags a lot, emulation speed was constantly at 60FPS so, what you see here, is what you get on the hardware).
Also, for a change, i picked up a different track this time around, went with Museum 2 instead of the good-old Toys in the Hood.
Found it to be pretty close to when i played those in-person in game events and friends' houses (sans a CRT TV ofc), this is, once again, the right / most faithful way that ReVolt would look on an N64 console.
General specs for those interested:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
nVidia RTX3060Ti
ares v133
Original Nintendo Controller w/ Mempak attached
Mayflash MF103 Adapter for Nintendo Switch and PC/Xbox
My future plan is to bring a "full" Turok beta playthrough as best as i can (since the biglevel map is kinda hard, can't guarantee a deathless run) and maybe other lesser-known / seen N64 titles. All i know is that i've been enjoying emulating those games with the actual peripheral a lot.
