What's up with the "Memory Lane" in the title? Go watch part 1, please!

Perfect Cherry Blossom is my favorite game in the series. Do I have a reason for this? Sort of. It introduced a number of improvements over EoSD, not least of which being the boss slider at the bottom of the screen. The quality of music and graphics went up as well. The cherry point system is a simple gimmick that doesn't intrude on the gameplay much, and you can fully enjoy the game without having to understand how it works.

There's also a couple of personal reasons for it: it was the first game I 1cc'd, it was the first extra stage I beat, and my favorite character debuted in it. I'll point her out when she shows up, but I think I've alluded to it at least once on this channel... I definitely mentioned it in TG vs. Touhou 9.

I played PCB for the first time a few weeks after discovering EoSD. I was determined to 1cc the first game (or, y'know, sixth) before I moved on to the rest of the series. A few weeks of getting stopped dead by Patchy, Sakuya, and, if I was really lucky, Remi cured me of that. Rather dejectedly, I moved on to Touhou 7.

The aforementioned improvements, easier difficulty, and the fact that the game itself was just generally a breath of fresh air after so much of 6 pretty quickly did away with any lingering regret I had toward leaving 6 unfinished.
