Messiah is a game from the year 2000 made by Shiny Entertainment which came and went, but thanks to one little sound effect has now escaped from obscurity. Hbomberguy made a small video about it just a month ago, prompting me to actually try and play this again (honestly I had no idea people didn't recognize that oof sound). The game is available on gog.com and to get to run properly, you are best off making a new shortcut to the direct3D executable as such:
path\MESSIAHD3D.EXE" -i -x +!
the -i skips the intro videos, the -x allows you to set a manual resolution on the nglide wrapper, and +! prevents certain crashes on windows 2000 systems, which all modern windows OS's are.
The intro and ending won't play properly, but the game itself will run fine, and mostly without incident.

I got the intro and ending proper from running the glide executable before it inevitably crashes. The music will unfortunately not work for this game, despite being included with the release. Installing the 1.02 patch creates a 'audio cd not found' error message, which you will see in this video a few times.
So then how did I get the audio for the halfway encounter? MAGIC. ...by way of editing. Which I also used to remove any deaths, saves, and other inconveniences. Made the video a lot shorter too.
Nonetheless, the result is the entire playthrough of the game, recorded and edited for 1080p.
