Metabolic Reprogramming in Prostate Cancer: Impact of TP53 Gain-of-Function Mutations on Tumor Progression and Therapeutic Vulnerabilities


Layman Abstract : Prostate Cancer (PC) is a common and deadly disease in men, often becoming resistant to standard treatments like hormone therapy and chemotherapy. This study investigated how specific TP53 gene mutations (R175H & R273H) affect Cancer cell metabolism, potentially contributing toTherapy resistance. Researchers analyzed metabolic changes in different prostate cancer models and found that these mutations alter key metabolites that support cancer growth. Identifying these metabolic shifts could help develop new diagnostic tools and targeted treatments for resistant prostate cancer. Future research should explore therapies that disrupt these metabolic pathways to improve treatment outcomes.
