I made this tool assisted (for the most part) run because the only other ghost run was in parts, used save relocation to it's advantage and didn't include any cutscenes.
I do feel like this run can be BETTER, though.
1.You could minimize the amount of guards punched by two or so. Instead of going through the mannequin room to get to the freezer, you could easily spend five or so extra minutes running all the way back to building two and going in through the bathroom elevator.
Simply put, there's a lot of room to use the cassette more effectively.
2. You could use the cassette player on the hang glider guard, and if need be the elevator before night fright can be dealt with by throwing out a mouse and using the metal bucket.
3. You could theoretically fight most of the bosses purely using punches, but I decided against this since it would be tedious to watch and even more tedious to do. Instead I tried to showcase as much of the weaponry as possible and found to my surprise the gas grenades were actually useless against bosses. Thanks Kojima.
4. There are multiple areas where you have a choice between using a cardboard box to slip by cameras, or you can run through and remove a noise-activating tripwire. I didn't commit to either of these, but if you're particularly perfectionist you could push dedicate to either minimal item usage or less trace.
Sadly I'm not too free on time to redo that much of a TAS run, but here's hoping someone else can attempt it in the future!
Metal Gear 2, I can safely say, is the first stealth game to actually feel like you're sneaking around guards who are looking for you. It may not have nailed it like Solid did years later, but like Wolfenstein 3D it laid a foundation for the allegorical Doom that would solidify the genre after it.
