This is the original Metal Gear from 1987 for MSX2, designed by Hideo Kojima for Konami. The game was ported several other systems, including C64, MS-DOS, and NES. The MSX was a hardware specification developed in 1983 by MIcrosoft and ASCII Corporation that enabled manufacturers to create computers that were able to run the same software on their hardware. The MSX was based on a Z80 CPU. The MSX2 was the successor to the MSX specification that included higher requirements to memory and video processing.
