With the release of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection as well as the announcement of the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, titled Metal Gear Solid Delta, I think it's time we go back to where it all began.

Welcome to the first part of my Metal Gear Retrospective series. In this first entry we will be delving deep into the first adventure of Solid Snake, Operation Intrude N313. This video will cover Metal Gear's development history, the beginnings of it's creator Hideo Kojima, his cinema inspirations, summarize its story and review its gameplay. Metal Gear was a foundational stealth action titles laying the foundation for the stealth games we love today, titles like splinter cell and of course, metal gear solid. Enjoy.

Metal Gear was originally released for the MSX computer in 1987. It was developed and published by Konami. It is currently available on PC and PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch through the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol 1.
