Metal Gear Solid is one of the most ambitious game series ever produced, one of the earliest to truly capture the same kind of drama and action that films trade in. With a complex, occasionally baffling story by Hideo Kojima, MGS is an extremely compelling auteur work that exists in a space dominated by design-by-committee crowd pleasers. If Metal Gear Solid isn't art, then I don't know what is! Now strap it, it's time to get crazy.
On a personal note, bonding with friends over this game series has nurtured some of the most enduring friendships of my life. This one is real special to me.
