Metaphor: ReFantazio - 4 Ways to One Shot the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon (Regicide)
36Here are all the possible ways to one shot the New Game Plus secret boss in Metaphor: ReFantazio. First of all, we're talking about the old school Elemental Master setup, content creators in the past used this method to one shot the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon due to the ease of the method. Simply use the Yggdrasil Staff, Overlord's Sash (2x damage synthesis) accessory and the correct passives and call it a day.
After spending 200 hours in the game, I have found 3 other ways to one shot the boss with 2 other Archetypes. The first of which is to use base Warrior with Mania Bullet. We are using the base version of this Archetype because it has innate access to Slash Boost and Heat Up, freeing all four inheritance slots for other damage booster passives, making it slightly more powerful than the Royal Warrior, however Peerless Stonecleaver costs 3 press turns this way. Base Warrior can also get Slash Surge with the Dynastic Blade or Asura's Hands gear equipped. We are not using critical hit in the video despite the Warrior lineage having access to Beloved Greatsword (2x damage synthesis) and Gamblers' Manual (3x crit damage) accessory to achieve the highest damage possible because two reasons. One, after looking at the game's enemy table, it turns out the boss has a hidden 50% resistance to every affinity. Two, applying weakness with skills like Mania Bullet negates that hidden 50% resist which makes the damage greater than a crit hit. Unfortunately, Mania Bullet does a chip damage off the dragon to create a weakness which some people may consider it not a "pure" one shot. For me personally, I still count it as a one shot because in the end, Peerless Stonecleaver does more damage than the dragon's max HP (60,000). You can do a "pure" one shot on it with crit setups though, which some content creators have done in the past if you really care about it that much.
And finally, the other new method to one shot the dragon that I found is to use the Soul Hacker Archetype. The reason why this jack of all trades Archetype is able to one shot is because the fact that the Seeker lineage has the Dragon's Fall sword, which increases damage dealt to dragon enemies by 1.5x. For those who didn't know, you can get this sword by trading 46 Gold Beetles to the old man in Brilehaven. In fact, you can use both of the Soul Hacker's severe magic wind and severe physical strike synthesises to one shot it, thanks to that sword and combining it with Overlord's Sash. For the latter, make sure to equip the Rakshasa's Hands gear for Strike Surge and it's similar to the Warrior's case that creating a weakness to strike also does a chip damage to the dragon, which once again some people may consider it not a "pure" one shot.
