"Metro 2035" is a post-apocalyptic novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky, which continues the series of books "Metro 2033" and "Metro 2034.
The action of the novel takes place after the events of the first two books "Metro 2033" and "Metro 2034" and unites the heroes of both works with one storyline.
Two years have passed since the bombing of the "black" nest. Artyom, who married Melnik's daughter Anna, returns to "VDNH" after a brief stint in the Order. However, he fails to return to his former life at the station. Under the influence of remorse for his involvement in the extermination of the "blacks" he gets the idea to find traces of the survivors on the surface outside of the Moscow subway. Every day he goes to the surface with a heavy army radio in his backpack and climbs on foot to the roof of one of the nearby "Tricolor" high-rises, making attempts to make radio contact with the survivors there. His confidence is fueled by the memory of the vaguely heard, through the interference, in the radio of the Order of Ulman fighter, callsigns, during their ascent to the Ostankino TV tower two years ago.
Artyom's activities are not supported either by his station neighbors or by his stepfather Sukhoi (who has become the head of VDNKh). Artyom is considered insane and is treated with hostility. Because of Artyom's obsession, his relationship with his wife Anya does not work out.
