The software to get this set up: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127310/HelixVision/
PLEASE TAKE NOTE!!!
Currently only available for nVidia GPU's. The latest 30 series unfortunately not supported since nVidia removed the stereoscopic branches from the drivers. No workaround. Only compatible with 20 series and drivers HelixVision recommends.
If you watch it with Virtual Desktop use 25-30% brightness. It makes it much more immersive.
When playing i set the brightness to about 35% with OVR advanced VR settings: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1009850/OVR_Advanced_Settings/
This truly made a phenomenal and spectacular difference and i would highly recommend playing it this way.
What can I say about this game. It definitely deserves some exposure! This is the first time im playing anything from the Metro series and cant believe I haven't tried it before. Many thanks to all the guys who made it possible in VR!! Otherwise I might never have tried it out. At first I didn't like it because of the washed out textures in Mixed reality. But with a lower brightness I constantly find myself walking around through different areas just absorbed and staring at all the design effort that went into this game. I feel a strong connection between this and Half life, which I value a lot. But it is still very unique regardless.
Stereoscopic gaming is having a real hard time keeping up with the times. It would be highly appreciated if you could share this with other VR enthusiasts. Also please support the modders if you could spare a few dollars. Of all the modders out there they truly deserve it the most.
