Metroid AM2R is a beautiful pixel art style remake of the gameboy game Metroid II Samus Returns. In it we assume the role of Bounty Hunter Samus with the mission to eliminate all remaining Metroids. They are too dangerous. They must be stopped!

This remake was developed by Milton Guasti (DoctorM64) and friends. It is a complete and faithful remake of the original Gameboy game adding wonderful things such as bright pixel art, a mini map, mission info, and more! After the game was completed Nintendo asked DoctorM64 to stop working on the project because they (Nintendo) wanted to hire a different company to do their own official remake aka Samus Returns on 3DS.

What happened to Milton? AM2R won fan game of the year and got the attention of many including Moon Studios who hired Milton to design levels and content for them for the incredible Ori series. Ori Will of the Wisps being my personal favorite modern Metroid like game has me hyped to try out this Metroid 2 Remake from one of the minds behind Ori's design.
