This little out of nowhere bug is like a combination of the electricity enemy and the flying beetle enemy... in fact it's pretty much exactly that except it also has those micro missiles. So really it's desinged to be a reference to the X bosses from Metroid fusion but it also reminds me of the bosses from metroid Prime 2.

After dealing enough damage the boss will turn into a core X which fights exactly how you think it does. Just spam your basic beam first if you took a lot of damage from the boss (he does do a lot of damage) and you'll get your health back.

You should have no real issue with a core X.
