Phase 1:

* Unload missiles into his mouth as soon as it starts. This is free time.
* Hitting his head will open his mouth.
* He spews rubble into the air making him hard to hit. Use Charge Beam to clear rubble for items but avoid the flaming ones.
* HIs left arm fires claw projectiles, mostly horizontally. The right arm fires them in long arcs.

Phase 2:

* The stomach hole will fire the same single bits of rubble that you can shoot with Charge Beams. Time it so that you hit these as soon as they appear and the hole at the same time.
* The hole glows for a brief second before firing a purple slime that splashes. Jump over the wave it causes.
* Kraid will fire spikes from his stomach openings, that you can jump on to climb back up. The timing for this is quick.
* Upon critical damage to the hole, Kraid will fire all 3 spikes at the same time. Duck these, then use the Magnetic lift to go back up.
* While hanging from the lift, just shoot missiles straight outward; no need to aim. If he fires claws, jump back down. If he swipes at you, it can be parried.

BONUS BOSS

You can instantly kill Kraid in Phase 2 if you have bombs. It's a difficult task to get bombs before this, but entirely possible, once you have the Varia Suit.
All you need to is bomb open the bottom wall and activate the bomb tube. I don't know if you need to mash Y to place bombs here or not, but I certainly did. This was recorded in Normal Mode, not Dread.
