Metroid Dread: Part 12: Unleashing the X from Elun
9Elun is a VERY short region of ZDR. There's a reason for this...
Right after leaving the Save Room, Samus stands before a giant hatch, that then unlocks itself for her to enter into. She walks inside, causing many bots to scan her presence and allow her further in.

After taking a few hidden passageways, she encounters a dark, drippling Chozo, but it turns out that this was an X Parasite that changed into a Chozo!
Defeating these will change them back to normal. They could potentially scatter around and take on a new form, but other times, they will allow Samus to absorb them into her body, which has Metroid DNA at this point thanks to her exploits in Metroid Fusion. Yellow ones will replenish her missiles, while green ones will replenish her energy/health.

Eventually, you'll discover yet another Chozo Statue, and this one will bare the Plasma Beam to Samus. This increases the damage of her shots, and allows them to pierce through several enemies at once. The Plasma Beam can also destroy those green energy covers.

Near the end of Samus' trip through Elun, she is confronted by an Elite Chozo Soldier, who fights Samus with a long spear. Watch out for its thrusts and leaping attacks.
Then it turns out that this Chozo was also the result of the X, and starts attacking more aggressively with goop-like shockwaves.
To finish off this enemy, you have to damage it enough to automatically trigger a Melee Counter cutscene. Time your hits right, and Samus will finish off the infected Chozo by shooting it dead into its mouth.
Red X Parasites will recover both your energy and missiles. It seems way more effective than just getting a pile of the real things.
Time to collect more items, including one that can't even be used, yet, and then head out of Elun.

On her way out, Samus has discovered that all of the X were also escaping out of Elun, it looks like they were spreading throughout ZDR, now...
On her way back to Ghavoran, one of the X has entered Ferenia, and put itself into Quiet Robe's dead body. He started moving again...
...and then... he reactivated the E.M.M.I.! The X has even caused him to repeat his final words to Samus ad naseum while he was doing this...
The Blue E.M.M.I. that reactivated can freeze enemies solid with its bright blue light.
Check in with ADAM again, and he has confirmed that the X has truly spread all over ZDR, and blames Raven Beak for it.
