Bayonetta 1 (NS): Chapter II: Vigrid, City of Deja Vu (Normal, All 10 Verses)
More characters to introduce in this chapter, as Bayonetta continues to regain her memories.
After a previous battle against a titanic angel, Bayonetta spots Jeanne again, and man, what an entrance she makes! She tears through more angels without ever leaving her motorcycle!
Surely, she and Bayonetta have fought together in the past, but Bayonetta doesn't remember her well, now. Jeanne tries to clear up her lost memory... after entertaining her by stealing her red gem for a moment.
She told her about The Eyes of the World, which made her remember in the past, when Jeanne challenger her to a duel
This duel is a boss battle, and Jeanne fights a lot like Bayonetta does, as they are both Umbran Witches.
----------
After the fight, the flashback ends, and Jeanne already vanished...
Bayonetta can use Witch Walk to walk on walls and ceilings, but only when the moon is shining down on her. You will sometimes have to fight angels like this.
You will also sometimes have to use Witch Time to get through those strange walls in time.
----------
During Verse 3, we're introduced to another man, a ladies' man named Luka. He's a journalist, like his father was, but he's also a bit of a dork with a hookshot.
But under that charisma was a hurting man, who believes that Bayonetta killed her father when she woke up from that lake 20 years ago. He's trying to chase her down and expose her murder to the world.
Not that she's bothered by his attempts to do that or anything. She taunts him by calling him "Cheshire". He can't see her all the time because of being in Purgatorio, but he can smell her lovely fragrance.
----------
There will be more angels on the way, including attempts to kill you by running a bus over you, courtesy of the Enchant wheels, as well as more of those giants.
Remember, if you taunt angels, they will get angry and attack more aggressively for a few seconds, but you can recover magic this way, and it boosts how many Halos you earn from killing it.
----------
There are two missable Verses in this Chapter:
Missable Verse 5:
- After completing Verse 4, go backwards through the gate the bus came out of at around 10:40 for an Alfheim challenge. This challenges you to kill the giant angel with at most 7 punches and 6 kicks. The trick is to use Bullet Arts alongside those basic attacks to add more damage out of them.
Missable Verse 6:
- There is a small arch right before the Verse 7 that I used after it at around 25:30. This is also an Alfheim challenge, and it makes you just simply kill all of the angels within 4 mintues.
Missable Verse 8:
- After completing Verse 7, go all the way back to the strange wall to find a 3rd Alfheim. This one makes you get 6 Torture Attacks on enemies before you run out of them or out of time. My trick is to use the P+P+P+K+K+P combo. Bayonetta should then start slapping or spanking the angels, which builds up magic pretty fast.
----------
Also after beating Verse 7, you get the Quasi una Fantasia LP. Take it to Rodin, and he will use it to make the Shuraba blade.
I'm gonna be using this samurai sword a lot. It's the closest you can get to having Bayonetta fight like Dante!
----------
To represent Verse 10, you have Bayonetta barge her way into Vigrid's church. From there, she finds a tiny girl scurrying about. She was quite surprised to see a child like this wandering around all alone. Why was this child only in her pajamas, too?
Bayonetta then recalled some kind of song... a lullaby, from her past. It seemed like she was singing that towards this little girl, but after the flashback, she suddenly vanished.
Bayonetta was then confronted by that dragon-like angel from another past memory, who then tore the church apart!
----------
No matter how much damage you take, it always drops down to the last point. If you take any further hits beyond that, THEN you die!
After ridding about 3/4s of health out of this being, prepare for a Quick Time Event when it tries to destroy the remains of the church you're still in. Time the button press right, because if you do it too late, or even too early, you die!
Do it right, and you get to have Bayonetta swing the debris around to defend against the incoming fireballs. She then lets herself fall back into Vigrid.
Things were quite literally heating up for her, and this was just the start of it all.
