Metroid Dread: Part 14: Crossing & Storming Through Ferenia Again
I'm traveling through more of Ghavoran, though I think the places I enter in this videos aren't entirely necessary to advance the game.
----------
Those big, red, beetle-like creatures are called Muzbys. You will fight one in one of these room, which, of course, means you're fighting one infected by the X. You first kill that, then it transforms into the bigger and tougher Goliath. You kill THAT...
...and then you get to the REAL boss: An even-bigger, more menacing Golzuna!\\
You have to dodge its claw attacks and attack its exposed parts like usual, but note in particularly its bomb attacks. Take care of how they're placed, and avoid them accordingly.
The X that formed this beast will then become a Core-X. Just keep shooting at it at this point, and it will eventually be reduced to an X that can be absorbed.
This X gives Samus the Cross Bomb, which is what the Golzuna was using on you. This allows her Morph Ball Bombs to explode in a cross-shaped pattern. Helpful for clearing out a row of Bomb Blocks faster, or helps boost her over a solid row of collapsible blocks. I hate those blocks!
----------
Between 6:02 - 6:58, after I return to Ferenia through a new path, I focus on using a combination of the Speed Booster, Ballspark, and Cross Bombs to help me break through Speed Booster Blocks to reach a Missle+ Tank. The method I used to reach this isn't the only way, but it was the one I was trying to figure out for myself.
----------
According to ADAM Ferenia used to be a Chozo sanctuary for the Mawkin tribe, before the X brought the area to ruin.
The Purple E.M.M.I. that you can encounter in its zone of this region has the ability to stun its target with an electric force that can pass through terrain. I sucked at avoiding this robot a couple times, but I get around it, eventually, and find Ferenia's Map Room.
----------
After a bit more traveling, Samus eventually finds the powerful X that ADAM brought it. It's the powerful bug-like Escue.
This bug can charge at you, and launch different kinds of dark energy balls at you. Take note of the tiny ones that try to home in on you.
Destroying this X boss entirely will earn you the the Storm Missile. This is Samus' final and most-powerful missile upgrade, but it can still be used separately from her other ones. Just lock onto up to 5 targets and BLAST AWAY for loads of damage. The Storm Missiles are also needed to activate Storm Missile Boxes.
