Bayonetta 1 (NS): Chapter III: The Burning Ground (Normal, All 12 Verses)
Right after the end of the previous Chapter, Bayonetta fell right back into the city of Vigrid. Through Witch Time, she was once again confronted by that dragon-like angel that attacked her at the church.
The being was searching for the one that awakened him, but Bayonetta, with her limited memory, did not believe that she was this person the creature was looking for. It seems that this monster was hunting for the awakener, but nonetheless, Bayonetta enjoyed the thought of hunting him down first.
Then, as the dragon left, Vigrid was suddenly razed by violent magma and lava. It was time for Bayonetta to escape from this, but the angels she would encounter on the way out wouldn't make this easy for her!
----------
Verse 3 will have Bayonetta chased by a raging wave of lava, only for Verse 4 to greet her with dog-like angels called the Fairness.
Verse 6 has her decide to use an angel to surf the lava, before the moon returns along with her Witch Walk to evade the lava by walking on the home walls. DANCING-A-GO-GO, BABY!
After the fight at Verse 7, be prepared for a Quite Time Event where Bayonetta must shoot through lava to make her way to the other side of a falling train. However, this drops her into the molten catacombs below.
----------
After Verse 9, you use a portal that has Bayonetta enter into Paradiso, a.k.a. Heaven. You will find a magical hourglass here that will repair the bridge in the Catacombs that stopped your progress by reversing its own destruction.
If you can repair the Fantaisie-Impromptu LP and bring it to Rodin, he'll use it to hunt the demon that he can convert into the Kulshedra whip.
----------
Here are the missable Verses:
Verse 2:
- After completing Verse 1, you must deliberately break the trash can at 3:46. That will reveal an Alfheim portal underneath a nearby building. Instead of killing angels, this Alfheim has you stay in the air for 30 seconds. This is where I learned that you can use jump right off of enemies. You can also use aerial attacks in tandem to give Bayonetta more hang time.
Verse 5:
- Head to the right after the explosion at 8:10 and scale a building to find another Alfheim. This one has you kill angels only with their own Angel Arms. Typically, their weapons are easily dropped when you use a Torture Attack on them, but for this, there will be some lying around for you to pick up. "Punches" with these weapons are usually swifter, while "kicks" with these weapons hit harder, but break them more easily.
Verse 10:
- There's an Alfheim off to the side at Paradiso. Here, you must kill all of the angels with Witch Time disabled. This Alfheim won't be the only case where this could happen.
Verse 11:
- Backtrack a little after repairing the bridge to find a 4th Alheim. This one require you to use you Wicked Weaves attacks to kill all angels, especially since these angels will be engulfed in flames. Things of the combo finishers you can use to bring these Wicked Weaves out. My favorite one is PKP.
----------
After Verse 12, the rest of this Chapter is just focused on escaping from the scorching catacombs. Dodge the magma that tries to rain upon you, and you will eventually use Witch Walk to climb out of a deep crevice with the threat of falling boulders.
By the time you do, Bayonetta is now far away from the burning ruins of Vigrid. This Chapter finishes by having her enter into an old coliseum.
