Metroid Dread - Raven Beak boss fight guide (Dread Mode, includes escape and ending)

Phase 1:
* Windup pose, no effects - triple claw strike, jump and Shift.
* Crouches down, upward sword thrust - scanner beam encompasses whole room, get close then prepare to jump over triple claw strike.
* Charges up purple orb - launches the orb, use Missiles to destroy it. Aim a little high. Often does upward sword immediately after.
* Red hand charging behind his body - full-screen dash melee, parry it and get a counter sequence.
* Glows red - prepares a horizontal beam across the whole screen, duck it and parry the attack for another counter sequence.
* Hitting his armor does damage to him in some way, as evidenced by it changing colors. When it turns gold the sound effect changes as if to indicate invulnerability. In this state he has a taunt. If you dash melee him, it triggers another parry attack, exactly like the one from ducking the wide beam, but this one results in a longer, 3rd phase counterattack sequence.
Phase 2:
* Targeting laser - chain gun that tracks you, jump in circles around him to lead it.
* Orange glow - horizontal diving attack, if he's near the bottom, slide under it. He will float down to the correct height first, watch for that.
* Flies high, directly above - crashes down on you, Shift to the side.
* Hovers close above you - fires unibeam diagonally downward, Shift under him. You can also identify his hands in the forward position as he floats down to the correct height.
Phase 3
* Same as Phase 1 without glowing armor.
* Attacks now include a giant sun that radiates in segments. POWER BOMB AS SOON AS HE FIRES IT. Trust me.
* Can fire unibeam, up to three times. with a very long charge up, lead his target by jumping in an arc. You can Space Jump all the way over him if you like.
* Glows blue - Shinespark coming at you, jump and Shift over it. He can also Shinespark upward immediately out of the first one. Extremely unfair. If you're near the wall make sure you jump and Shift away from the wall. If you're close to him, jump and Shift over him usually avoids the vertical Shinespark.
* Successful parry of red dash melee is now a longer sequence.
X form:
Just hold down Y button until beam fires and keep it going. It does not control like Omega Cannon, despite the camera angle.
Escape:
shoot anything in front of you, floors under, and Screw Attack ceilings above you. Your new Metroid Beam has a very weird fire timing. Charge it up to melt that door you might remember in Hanubia. There are no enemies after that point. There are a few spots to Shinespark, also.
