Samus Aran finds herself back on planet SR388. This is the planet that metroids were found on, and Samus had been contracted to exterminate all the metroids. Now that metroids are extinct, the terrible creature metroids were created to hunt have flourished! These bizarre parasites kill their hosts, and then replace them in the ecosystem. No one was prepared for the X, not even Samus!
