Metroid Fusion! Space Horror? Escaping From Shapeshifting Parasites (Part 2 of 2)
First let's start off by saying Metroid Fusion is amazing. I'm not a huge fan of the series but it really felt like this was made for me personally. The story was kicked up a notch giving us a much more personal feel on what Samus is thinking with a new dangerous threat known as X. These shapeshifting parasites can mimic anything including Samus herself adding a cool cat and mouse scenario and space horror element. You also have new gameplay elements since you have to absorb the parasites to heal and restore ammo. The game is much more linear but that allows a stronger focus on set pieces with a very interesting map that takes place entirely on a space station. I feel like all the things missing from these games was finally addressed and the only downside to fusion is that it's on the Game Boy Advance. This limits the scale and soundtrack unfortunately and could have been so much more on a more powerful platform. This is part 2 of 2 of our playthrough.
