After snagging the Morph Ball from the previous miniboss, we have the tools to explore further into the Chozo Ruins. Predictably we get lost along the way a few times (and enter a couple of areas we definitely don't need to be in yet), but we do snag some nice expansions in the process.

Metroid Prime was the first game developed by Retro Studios, and was released in 2002 on the Gamecube in North America, with it following in Europe and Japan the following year. It was the first time Metroid had transitioned from 2D to 3D, and it proved a critical and commercial success.

Retro Studies went on to develop two sequels - Metroid Prime 2: Echoes and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and still continue their profitable partnership with Nintendo today, developing Donkey Kong Country Returns, Mario Kart 7 and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze to date.
