POST EDIT:
I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THIS COMMENT EARLIER: as i was working on this run, i found something new on prime's 2nd form fight, which might probably be helpful for future runners. In this run i use the strat for the 2nd form fight by standing in a pool while shooting single shots to speed him up to make the next pool. However, not sure if this was already known, but i discovered a way to precisely determine when he will make the next pool. I wanted to know whether there is a certain number of consistent shock wave attacks that he does before making the next pool or if it's random. So i decided to count his shock wave attacks during each pool before the next pool was made. And i was right, it is consistent and fixed. The fight on PAL version has a total of 5 pools. during the first two pools he does exactly 3 shock wave attacks in each pool before making the next pool, so as he starts doing the 3rd shock wave attack i immediately drain the rest of the remaining pool right before he starts making the next pool. During the 4th pool he does exactly 4 shock wave attacks before making the next pool so i drain it when he starts doning the 4th shock wave attack. Only during the 3rd pool it's kind of a gamble between 3 and 4 shock waves before he starts making the next pool.

Fastest known completion time of Metroid Prime PAL version with 100% items, done in one single sitting/no save with no restarts, achieved on September 20th 2021 (2021-09-20).

This is a whopping 15-minute-improvement over my old first published 1:39 on SDA back from 2007. However only ~5 minutes come from better/faster route and tricks, the rest ~10 minutes were saved one by one simply by better/faster playing, optimization and fluidity. This was the hardest category, harder than any other Single-segment run i've ever worked on before and i put A LOT more effort and time into this than in any other Single-segment run before (PAL and NTSC altogether). Not only because it's 100% which by itself makes it longer and harder and which is hard to do it well. There is just so much that can go wrong pretty much everywhere. And yet this is far from perfect, there are several minor mistakes in it and even a few noticeable bigger mistakes (notably the biggest mistake being thardus...). But the main purpose for doing this wasn't to make it perfect. If i wanted to make a perfect run, i'd rather do it segmented, there would be no point in doing it Single-segment. There will always be mistakes in a Single-segment run. The biggest mistake was the first half of the thardus fight: it was horrible and cost me ~30 seconds. However i got the fastest 3-chozo ghost fight for Wild ever so that kinda made up for the time loss at thardus. Plus the rest of the run went rather well, so i decided to keep it despite thardus.

This is "only" a WR as it's still 1 minute slower than the current fastest segmented PAL 100% 1:23. However, since that segmented 1:23 was done by me, and this is still 6 minutes faster than the previous segmented WR of 1:30 which wasn't done by me, so technically this would be a double-WR.

Recording Single-segment runs with DVD Recorder and the .vob format isn't fun at all and i wouldn't recommend recording SS runs with DVD recorder. For the future, if i ever do Single-segment runs again, i'd rather get a capture card, it's so much easier and better quality with capture card. Plus with capture card you don't have to worry about the video length (hoping it would fit on a disc otherwise you'd have to split it. And rejoining it later on the computer can be a nuisance with .vob as well as anyone experienced with the .vob container format knows, once a .vob-video is splitted, rejoining it is a serious problem). With capture card you don't have all these problems and length/size restrictions when working on Single-segment runs or longer/larger videos in general, and no need for splitting and joining. Plus the video quality is better too. Never again Single-segment runs with DVD recorder!!...

Right now i can't record anymore anyway as my DVD Recorder which i've been recording with since 2008, finally broke after 13 years. The DVD disc drive broke and couldn't be fixed and i had no way of getting it from the internal HDD onto a dvd disc. .vob encryption is tricky and when i removed the HDD out of the recorder i had some trouble trying to recover the important data. Luckily i could record and finish this run right in time just before my DVD recorder broke. My Frigate escapes and DKCR runs i did afterwards weren't so lucky and i had trouble recovering those, but luckily i could recover even those. But now can't record. For the future, if i should ever record again, i wouldn't recommend with DVD Recorder, there's so much problems with it and the .vob format. I'd rather get a capture card, with capture card it's so much easier and also better quality.
