There are hardly any recordings of this mode, but this is currently the fastest claimed time I'm aware of for this mission. Probably could be done a little faster using this method despite its randomness.

The main trick to this method is to deal mostly bomb damage. Normally, if you deal two ball strikes, Thardus will transition to an invulnerable state and enter the rolling phase, but bomb hits don't seem to trigger this. Therefore, if you can drop a bomb on contact, the bomb will explode by proximity and damage will be dealt by the bomb, not the strike. In theory, you can do this continuously, but it's difficult to control since you get deflected quite erratically.

The other part to this method is much stupider. Instead of trying to deal ~5 extra damage in bomb hits, all we have to do is get a random power bomb drop! It's not exactly a common drop (probably less than 10%), but you can roll through the attempts pretty quickly. It's only slightly annoying to get force field drops over and over again and have to reset.

It's very possible to get the extra power bomb earlier and have to deal more damage afterward. It's also possible that Thardus's cycle can get reset with the drop or with a late bomb, so this may not be an issue. However, using the extra power bomb to deliver the fatal blow seems to be ideal.
