46Metroid: Samus Returns is a remake of the 1991 Game Boy title Metroid II: Return of Samus. Developed by Mercury Steam in collaboration with Nintendo, Metroid: Samus Returns modernizes the original game in significant ways for the 3DS platform. I have finally played through the game, having skipped it during its original launch in 2017. I have found it to be an enjoyable title, even if it's not perfect, and you can clearly see the foundation that was laid for Metroid Dread.
