Metroid Zero Mission 10/2/24 stream - needeed something different, and this worked perfectly.
Been feeling like the stuff I've been playing lately has been stale/stagnant and decided to get a quick fix of fun. Metroid never fails in this department.
This game is probably my least favorite of the three out of this, Super Metroid and Fusion, but this is the only one I haven't played recently (within the last couple of years). Movement is dumbed down a lot and everything feels a little stiff. The Switch pro controller having a bad d-pad doesn't help.
I don't think I've ever 100% a Metroid game and I probably never will. To me a lot of the puzzles and precision needed for some of the items just isn't worth the time and effort. You do this super precise thing, and get a missile tank for it. Like k.
I was gonna try to figure out how to get back to Crateria etc to go look for more items after I got the suit back in the Chozo Ruins, but ultimately that's where these games lose me. I like exploring and finding secrets and stuff but when I feel like I gotta go room by room, block by block, I just don't care that much.
So that's how I play these games. I get what I get along the way and once I hit credits I'm satisfied. I feel like if I can't figure out everything on my own and have to use a guide it sorta ruins the point, but I'm not willing to put in the time and effort to figure it out either because I value my time. What a conundrum!
