Mewtwo's New Attacks & How Good They Are | Pokemon GO
There have been some changes made to the Mewtwo raid from its move from the EX raid to the tier 5 raid pool. One significant change has been its increase in HP. Rather than having the standard tier 5 HP of 12500, Mewtwo now has 18750 HP. This does make the Mewtwo raid harder than before, now requiring more collective DPS to take down Mewtwo. Another change to the Mewtwo raid is that Mewtwo no longer carries Shadow Ball or Hyper Beam and instead uses Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam. These moveset changes don’t bother Mewtwo’s top counters but are changes you should be mindful of when fighting Mewtwo.
With the inclusion of these new attacks in Mewtwo’s movepool, players have been asking how good they are on Mewtwo. Overall, I’m not terribly impressed with them. Flamethrower is straight up bad, Thunderbolt is decent but still worse than other Water-type counters, and while Ice Beam makes Mewtwo the best “Ice-type” currently released in GO imo being the best Ice-type is like being the best in the nothingness race. Rayquaza better watch out tho.
