【Mickey's Adventures in Numberland】 NES Reviews | Squiggy Seven (Episode #012/884)
Our buddy Mickey is in trouble! The evil Pete has threatened to steal all the numbers in Numberland somehow, and that would be bad news bears! What's a Numberland without numbers?
There's not too much to say about this one. It's an educational video game about counting, hahah. It's probably not going to blow anyone's socks off in 2016.
The gameplay is simple - you walk around and collect numbers. Only through sheer force of will (I really want that Magic card by the way, hahah) will you be able to die, and it looks like it's nearly impossible to even come close if you've ever played any video game ever.
The graphics aren't great, the music is average at best, and the gameplay is boring. Not the best pitch to watch the video, I know, but I try to keep it real in the comment sections folks. It's a fine line to ride between salesman and reviewer, and I've never been much of a salesman.
---[ Wikipedia Description ]---------------
In this game, Mickey must collect all of the numbers from one to ten in order prevent the evil Pete from completely robbing Numberland. The five levels are: Number City, Number Factory, Space Center, Number Museum, and Pete's Hideout. Basic math questions must be answered in order to progress to the next level. There are three difficulty levels; players can only "die" on the hardest difficulty level. Also, the player is given balls of bubblegum to be used against enemies as a weapon. These elements create a "traditional video game" environment to an otherwise "purely educational" video game.
The hardest mode of the video game also has a secondary function: to teach children about the basics of playing side-scrolling platform video games.
---[ Series Information ]---------------
Squiggy Seven: First Impressions is a series where I blind review random NES games in an effort to learn more about the hidden classics on the system. I have gotten into retro collecting for the NES and I am on the hunt for those games I've never played that I'm missing out on.
---[ Squiggy's Blog B-log ]---------------
Hey folks! Not much time to talk in the B-log today, I gotta head out soon. I'm going to a concert tonight! My friend bought me tickets for my birthday last month, it should be pretty fun! I haven't been to a show in way too long, hahah.
Quick update about me - I'm almost done with my teeth problems, and I hope to be back in action 100% pretty soon. This is taking much longer than I would have liked, but it is what it is, and at least I can say it's almost over now.
Hoping to hear everything's well with all you out there too! Cheers folks, have a wonderful afternoon and I'll talk to you soon!
