Micro Arcade Centipede Review: The Word "Sub-Optimal" Comes to Mind
3I wouldn't say that I regret purchasing Micro Arcade Centipede, Missile Command & Pong from Stone Age Gamer -- they're a great company and this device had been knocked down to a bargain price in their clearance section. The word "sub-optimal" comes to mind repeatedly though while going through the experience. The length of the charge cord included is sub-optimal. The sound effects while playing Centipede are sub-optimal. Trying to control Missile Command without a trackball or Pong without paddles... VERY sub-optimal. I think this is a great novelty device to kill time with if you're standing in line somewhere, but if you really want to scratch the arcade game itch, there are better versions on equally portable devices. An Everdrive GBA X5 and a GameBoy Micro can deliver more bang although admittedly for a LOT more buck. Subscribe to Mistah MegaManFan for daily content!
