In what sounds like AMAZING news, but is actually kinda... meh, Microsoft have released their Game Development Kit on GitHub. This enables you to develop (but not publish) XBox games, with access to tools such as audio, networking, XBox live and the store, but not the GDKX (graphics, etc). You however still need a license with XBox to actually use the SDK.
