[MIDI] Sonic 3D Blast Reversed Frequencies - Diamond Dust Zone (Act 2)
I did not create the original MIDI, i only reversed the frequencies. The original is on vgmusic.com - https://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sega/genesis/
In the early 2010's, hacks of Sonic 1, 2 and 3 & Knuckles emerged, which reversed the pitch table and inverted the notes of every song and sound effects. This was accomplished by editing the channels of the Sega Genesis' Yamaha YM2612 Chip. A simple enough concept, but this changed the feel of the game(s) completely. The inverted notes made some songs sound barely recognizable from the original, And low pitched channels in songs were sometimes now ear piercingly loud. But the after results of almost every song and sound effect in the trilogy sounded pretty alright.
But since the process required edits to audio channels, Sonic 1, 2 & 3 were really the only games which could have their soundtracks done in reversed frequencies. But you see, one Sonic Game from the Genesis Era was left to sit in the dust with no RF ROM Hack, which was obviously Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. But Sonic 3D Blast is also there, i guess. So jokes aside, i wanted to try and find a way reverse the frequencies of the Sonic 3D Blast OST. But with my terrible knowledge on how to access video game files, i took some fan-made Sonic 3D Blast MIDI Files from VGMusic and Reversed their Frequencies instead, so we can have a good understanding of what the in-game music would sound like with Reversed Frequencies. Enjoy!
