Hi Ryan and Lucca asked during the stream what I use to allow me to stream Oculus Quest to You Tube.
Firstly you need the following
Chromecast
HDMI splitter - Synic 2 way HDMI splitter
Video capture card - Elgato HD60 S +
OBS installed on your computer.
So you need to plug your chromecast into the HDMI splitter into the input slot, then one of the HDMI outputs plug a lead from it to your tv, the lead in the other other output goes to your capture card, then another HDMI lead from the card into your computer.
You then select Cast on your Oculus Quest and an option for your chromecast to be cast to will appear, select this and you should see your Quests screen now on your TV.
To enable you to then replicate the cast onto your computer you need to open OBS and create a scene, selecting video capture card as your input source, this should bring sound in as well, you can select audio input and select the capture card again.
There are a number of settings that you can adjust in settings, from screen size, FPS and audio, these will depend on the capabilities of computer and the strength of your internet signal and does take a little time to find a right balance.
I also use a blue tooth headphone and microphone set up to allow me to hear viewers comments and also respond or talk to them. Once again, when you open your scene you can add another audio input and select your headset from the list. I use a program called Speech Chat, you need to pair it to you tube then you should be good to go.
Once you have everything setup, OBS brilliantly allows you to record everything to check quality of sound and visuals. Then to enable you to stream to you tube, go back into settings, then from the left hand menu select stream, you can request a stream key, the link will automatically take you to the streaming page of you tube, there you can press the copy button and then paste the unique code into OBS, save, then all that should be left to do is press stream and you should be live.
