Minecraft Charcoal Machine
Wow, has it really been almost 2 months since my last Minecraft video?
Well, here is a short video to correct that. It show off a small charcoal making machine. Once built and primed, you just add some wood logs to the top chest and it will convert the logs into charcoal, which you can then use for smelting or for making torches. For every 8 logs, you will get 7 charcoal (as one piece of charcoal will be used to make the next 8).
The first time you add wood, you have to add one log into the furnace to start the process of making charcoal (actually, turning the log into 4 wood blocks and adding them into the furnace is slightly more efficient), but after the first piece of charcoal is created, it will be moved into the lower chest and then used as fuel for making more charcoal. You can take all the charcoal you want out of the lower chest, or even the hopper below it. As long as the furnace still has charcoal, more charcoal will be made.
This works best if you add a bunch of logs at once (groups of 8 works best). If you add just one at a time, you will be using just as much charcoal as you are making.
